AI usage policy

The editorial board of the journal supports innovative technologies while adhering to high standards of academic integrity and the international COPE recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The purpose of this policy is to ensure transparency, responsibility, and the proper use of AI at all stages of the preparation of scholarly materials, including the following:
AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author, as it cannot assume responsibility for the content of a publication.
AI may be used only as a technical tool; however, authors must ensure careful verification and editing of the generated output, since AI may produce inaccurate or biased information.
All instances of AI use must be disclosed. Authors must clearly indicate which AI tools were used, for what purpose, and in which parts of the work (this information should be provided in the “Research Methodology” section or in a separate note before the list of references).
The creation of text, data, or images that imitate or fabricate scientific results is prohibited.

Principles of AI use:

transparency – any use of AI tools must be openly declared by the authors in the material or accompanying letter;
author responsibility – AI cannot be the author or co-author of an article. All responsibility for the content, accuracy of data and conclusions lies solely with the authors;
ethical compliance – AI may only be used in a manner that does not violate copyright, confidentiality, personal data protection requirements and academic integrity rules.

Authors may use AI tools for:
preliminary text processing (linguistic editing, style improvement, translation, text summarisation);
technical tasks (data visualisation, graph generation based on data provided by authors);
analytical assistance (data classification, statistical recommendations) – provided that authors fully control the process and verify the results.

AI usage declaration

All authors must indicate: which AI tools were used; for what purpose (editing, data analysis, translation, etc.); which parts of the work may have been influenced by AI; how the authors verified the correctness of the results proposed by AI. This information should be provided in the «Acknowledgements» section or in a separate note.

Example:
Title of the new section: Declaration on the use of AI in the writing of the article.
In the process of preparing the article, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the text and bear full responsibility for the content of the published manuscript.
Note: The declaration does not apply to the use of tools used to check grammar and references. Regardless of the use of AI, authors are fully responsible for the content of their work, including accuracy, originality, and compliance with ethical standards.

The editorial board prohibits:
the generation of original text fragments or data by AI that are presented as research results;
the use of AI to produce, modify or fabricate data, images or statistical indicators;
the creation of false citations or pseudo-references;
automatic writing of scientific text without subsequent verification and correction by the author.
Materials in which such violations are found are subject to rejection or withdrawal.

The role of the editorial board and reviewers
The editorial board reserves the right to: check the text for signs of automatic generation; request additional explanations or source materials; refuse publication if unethical or incorrect use of AI is detected.
Reviewers evaluate the material in terms of scientific validity, reproducibility of results, and compliance with ethical standards.

Recommendations for authors
Use AI as a supporting tool: use AI for editing, translating or generating ideas, but do not rely on it to create the main content.
Verify facts and sources: AI can generate false or fabricated information. Always verify facts and references.
Using AI does not exempt you from responsibility for plagiarism. Ensure that all sources are properly cited and that the generated text is original or properly attributed.
