Retraction policy
If a violation of established rules has been identified and confirmed, or if the necessary corrections have been made to the publication, the editorial board considers the possibility of retraction in accordance with the relevant COPE recommendations.
The purpose of retraction (withdrawal of an article) is to correct published information and ensure the integrity of scientific publications.
Retraction may be initiated by the authors, the editorial board, readers, or authorised persons. The decision to retract an article is made by the editorial board in the event of violations of publication ethics and/or other significant shortcomings.
Grounds for retracting an article
established fact of plagiarism or incorrect borrowing of text, ideas, data or research results, lack of proper references to the original sources of data;
repeated publication of the same article in another publication without proper justification;
the presence of significant errors in the research that render its results invalid;
inclusion of authors who have not made a significant scientific contribution to the research, or exclusion of authors who have made such a contribution;
detection of an unethical review process, the existence of a conflict of interest that could have influenced or influenced the results of the research;
falsification or manipulation of data;
failure to disclose a conflict of interest that affects the interpretation of the results;
detection of serious violations of ethical standards during the study, etc.
Retraction procedure
The person initiating the retraction submits a written statement explaining the reasons for the retraction. Evidence confirming the need for retraction is attached to the statement. The statement is reviewed by the editor-in-chief within 5 working days.
Consideration of retraction
The editor-in-chief establishes a committee of three independent experts.
The committee conducts a comprehensive analysis of the material and evidence.
The authors of the article are given the opportunity to provide explanations.
The application shall be considered within 30 calendar days.
The committee may take one of the following decisions:
reject the request for retraction;
suggest that the authors publish a correction;
recommend the complete withdrawal of the article.
Decisions are made by a majority vote of the commission members.
Retraction procedure
If a decision to retract is made:
the article is marked as ‘retracted’ in all versions of the journal;
a retraction notice is published stating the reasons;
the notice must contain a link to the original article.
Format of the retraction notice:
title ‘Retraction Notice’;
bibliographic data of the original article;
detailed justification of the reasons for retraction;
date of entry into force of the decision.
Consequences of retraction
The retracted article remains in the journal's archive with a corresponding label. The following are notified of the retraction: the authors of the article; indexing databases; scientometric databases; the interested scientific community. Information about the retraction is published in the next issue of the journal.
Authors have the right to:
receive a detailed justification for the retraction decision;
appeal the commission's decision;
publish a comment on the retraction decision.
The appeal is considered by the editor-in-chief within 14 days.
